    Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT)

    Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT)

NIPT is a safe, easy, and reliable non-invasive prenatal blood test that screens for chromosomal abnormalities, such as Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome).

Purpose: NIPT allows analysis of the health of your pregnancy as early as 10 weeks.

Semen analysis is the microscopic examination of the fluid to see how many sperm cells are present and whether they function correctly.

Purpose: To assess male fertility by looking at the total number of sperm in an ejaculate (the count), how the sperm swim and in which direction (motility test) and their size and shape (morphology analysis).

How do I get my results?

You can book an appointment at X&Y Fertility to discuss your results as soon as the test is completed (usually the same day).

    Sperm freezing, cryo storage

    Sperm Freezing

Sperm freezing reduces the temperature of the cells to the ultra-cold level of liquid nitrogen. The sperm are preserved at this temperature until they are required for future use.

Purpose: Sperm freezing is available for anyone who wants utilise this service and may be useful for a variety of reasons such as:

    • to have sperm available if a man is going to be unavailable to produce a fresh sample at the time of his partner's fertility treatment
    • as a back-up for the future, e.g. before having a vasectomy
    • to preserve functional sperm before undergoing any medical treatment which may negatively impact on future sperm production

    Post Vasectomy Semen Analysis

Post vasectomy semen analysis (PVSA) is the microscopic examination of the fluid to see if any sperm cells continue to be present and whether they are swimming.
